BLACK HISTORY IN EDUCATION
BLACK HISTORY IN EDUCATION was founded by filmmaker DAVID ALEXANDER with a simple goal — getting more black history into schools, colleges and universities.
Before establishing BHIE, David facilitated creative workshops, mentored young people and oversaw the making of over three hundred short films over the course of a twenty year career in education.
He has worked with several high profiles organisations including The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Globe, the British Film Institute, Kiln Theatre, the Arts Council, the Eastside Educational Trust, the Roundhouse, Regents University, Mencap, Disney, UnLtd, Film London, Westminster University, the ABC College Malawi, The Ubele Initiative, the Picture House Group and Cineclub: The Young Filmmakers Network.
"Through learning and collaboration we believe we can create a positive change in the lives of young people, and thereby a brighter future for us all."
